सदांबोधिवासं गलतपुष्पहसीं:
सदाम्भोधिवासं गलत्पुष्पहासं
जगत्सन्निवासं शतादित्यभासं
गदाचक्रशस्त्रं लसत्पीतवस्त्रं

अर्थ :मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जो हमेशा समुद्र में रहते हैं, जिनके दांत सफेद फूल हैं, जो दुनिया में अच्छे के साथ रहते हैं, जो सौ सूर्यों की तरह उज्ज्वल हैं, जिनके पास गदा और चक्र है शस्त्र, जिसके पास चमकीले पीले वस्त्र हों, और जिसका सुन्दर मुख मुस्कुरा रहा हो। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।


रमाकण्ठहारं श्रुतिव्रातसारं
जलान्तर्विहारं धराभारहारं
चिदानन्दरूपं मनोज्ञस्वरूपं
ध्रुतानेकरूपं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ||

अर्थ :मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जो राम के कंठ के लिए रमणीय हैं, जो श्रुति-झुंड का सार हैं, जिनके पास खेल के मैदान के रूप में आकाश है, जो पृथ्वी के भार को दूर करता है, जो विचार और आनंद है, जिसका रूप मनभावन है, और जिसने अनेक रूप धारण किए हैं। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

जराजन्महीनं परानन्दपीनं
समाधानलीनं सदैवानवीनं
जगज्जन्महेतुं सुरानीककेतुं
त्रिलोकैकसेतुं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं |

अर्थ–मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जो वृद्धावस्था और जन्म से मुक्त हैं, जो परम-आनंद से भरे हुए हैं, जिन्होंने अपने मन को आत्मा के वास्तविक स्वरूप में स्थिर कर दिया है, जो हमेशा नया है, जो है जगत् का जन्म, देवता की सेना का चमकता सितारा कौन है, और तीनों लोकों के लिए सेतु कौन है। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

कृताम्नायगानं खगाधीशयानं
विमुक्तेर्निदानं हरारातिमानं
स्वभक्तानुकूलं जगद्व्रुक्षमूलं
निरस्तार्तशूलं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं || 5॥

अर्थ–मैं श्रीहरि को पूजता हूँ, जिन्हें आम्नय ने गाया है, जिनके वाहन के रूप में पक्षियों का राजा है, जो मुक्ति का प्राथमिक कारण है, जो शत्रुओं के अभिमान को दूर करता है, जो अपने भक्त के अनुकूल है, जिसका मूल है वृक्ष के समान संसार और जीवन के कांटों के समान दर्द को दूर करने वाले। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

समस्तामरेशं द्विरेफाभकेशं
जगद्विम्बलेशं ह्रुदाकाशदेशं
सदा दिव्यदेहं विमुक्ताखिलेहं
सुवैकुण्ठगेहं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं 6॥

अर्थ – मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जो सभी अमरों के भगवान हैं, जिनके बालों में भौंरा रंग है, जो गोलाकार-जगत का सबसे छोटा हिस्सा है, जिसकी आत्मा आकाश है, जिसका शरीर हमेशा दिव्य है , जो इस दुनिया में सब कुछ से मुक्त है, और जो वैकुण्ठ में रहता है। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

सुरलिबलिसुरालिबलिष्ठं त्रिलोकीवरिष्ठं
गुरूणां गरिष्ठं स्वरूपैकनिष्ठं
सदा युद्धधीरं महावीरवीरं
महाम्भोधितीरं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं 7॥

अर्थ– मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जो सुर (अर्ध-देवताओं) के शत्रुओं से अधिक शक्तिशाली हैं, जो वरिष्ठों से श्रेष्ठ हैं, जो केवल एक रूप में स्थित हैं, जो हमेशा युद्ध में स्थिर रहते हैं, कौन है विशाल वीर से भी अधिक वीर, और जो महान महासागर के तट पर स्थित है। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

रमावामभागं तलानग्रनागं
कृताधीनयागं गतारागरागं
मुनीन्द्रैः सुगीतं सुरैः संपरीतं
गुणौधैरतीतं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं 8॥

अर्थ–मैं श्रीहरि की पूजा करता हूं, जिनके बाईं ओर राम हैं, जिनके सामने सांप का सिर है, जो यज्ञ से संपर्क किया जा सकता है, जो रंगों और जुनून से परे है, जो ऋषियों द्वारा गाया जाता है, जो घिरा हुआ है अर्ध-देवताओं द्वारा, और जो गुणों के समूह से परे है। मैं उसका प्रशंसक हूं।

फलश्रुति इदं यस्तु नित्य: समाध्याय चित्त:
पधेदफलश्रुति
इदं यस्तु नित्यं समाधाय चित्तं
पठेदष्टकं कण्ठहारम् मुरारे:

In the Hanuman Chalisa, it is said that Hanuman Ji is the donor of Ashta Siddhi ( eight supernatural powers) and Nav Nidhi ( Nine divine treasures) (Verse 31). The person who regularly recites Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Ji, fulfills his every wish.

Hanuman Chalisa has a couplet ‘Bhoot pishacha nikat… Naam sunavai” (verse 24). It is told from this couplet that the person who recites the regular Hanuman Chalisa does not have ghosts and other negative powers around him.
